🚴🏿 …… IT’S OPEN ……🚴🏿

We are pleased to announce the opening of the first 30km of Djuwang Baring
(Creswick Trails) today!!

Council has worked with Dirt Art to fast-track a 30km part of the trails network so that everyone can benefit from the local and tourist visitation, 5 months ahead of schedule. The final section of trails are due to be opened in December 2024.

Djuwang Baring will be a unique asset for our region and will have a strong positive impact on tourism, visitation and in turn, provide strong returns to local and regional businesses and tourism destinations.

To facilitate the early opening, temporary signage is in place on the advanced sections and the remaining 28 kilometres, permanent signage is expected to be ready later in the year.

To assist us in completing the balance of the trails in the network we encourage you to inform any visitors or guests to please stay off the remaining trails under construction that are marked with signage, fencing and orange flagged bunting.

To ensure our businesses are also Mountain Bike-Ready we have created a Mountain Bike Friendly Guide which provides information on:

  • Mountain biking – why its a big deal
  • Creating a thriving mountain bike destination
  • Building a mountain bike-ready business
  • Examples of successful mountain bike businesses to inspire you!!

In addition and in conjunction with the opening, we are launching a dedicated website which offers a host of information on the trails for users, businesses and event organisers. We encourage you to check out the site, you could also consider linking this to your website or socials to promote the trails.

You can read the Media Release on Council’s website for further information.
