Hope you’re staying warm. What a weekend! We had the team from We Are Explorers filming content across the region, launched Borealis in Daylesford and also hosted the fantastic Winter Sounds event. We are all pretty tired by Sunday night.
Also, a slightly belated congratulations to the wonderful town of Mt Macedon, which won the inaugural VTIC ‘Top Tiny Tourism Town’ (try saying that ten times quickly). Well done to all, particularly the tireless regional legend Andrew Towner, and the team at Macedon Ranges Shire Council.
A quick update on some ATDW news below: free listings extended and the chance to promote your deal via the Visit Vic website. Both excellent news!
All the best
Steve and the team.
Free ATDW listings extended
Visit Victoria is working with the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse’s (ATDW) on their planned enhancements to its digital platforms, helping ensure that the platform is delivering a better user experience for operators and visitors.
VV receives on average over seven million visitors each year to the products listed on its site that come from the ATDW platform.
Good news: ATDW listings that expire between 1 Jul and 30 Sept 2022 will be automatically extended for up to 3 months without charge.
To create a listing or update your existing listing, start by heading to our industry site here.

Hopefully you’ve seen the latest Visit Victoria campaign – Take a Not-So Public Holiday. It’s a smart campaign idea that will have a lot of weight behind it. It’s encouraging people to use their leave, accrued during lockdowns, to extend their regional Victorian weekend getaway. For more info go here. On the campaign’s consumer page, you will notice the Deals feature which has driven increased traffic to the Deals page on the Visit Victoria website.
If you’d like to give your product some additional exposure, this is a great opportunity. The Take A No-So Public Holiday campaign will run until mid-September.
So…what is a ‘deal’? Think packages (where you can offer a compelling price without discounting your core product), added value in the form of a bonus gift (e.g. a free bottle of wine or a pamper pack), or even a ‘collab’ with another business (e.g. accom plus dinner). You can do a discount – they work – but there’s a risk of devaluing your product/brand, so adding value or packaging is a good way to go.
This page on the corporate website clearly explains the step-by-step process to add a deal to a profile via ATDW. If you need help, please don’t hesitate to contact Visit Victoria’s ATDW Support Team at email@example.com or 1300 306 366.
See you soon
