We are DMR Tourism

DM Tourism (Daylesford Macedon Tourism Ltd.) is the peak industry body for tourism in the Daylesford and Macedon tourism region.  The DM Tourism Board includes five industry skilled-based members. The board is chaired by an independent Chairman.

The role of DM Tourism is to develop a co-ordinated approach to marketing, product development, infrastructure development and industry development for the region. 

We are an independent body, operating as a not for profit business, where all profits are reinvested back into developing and promoting the region. Tourism Victoria and local government are key financial stakeholders in the organisation, providing core funding that underpins the organisation’s operations.

We are your peak body for tourism and we are here to listen and represent your interests. As a regional tourism board we are advocates for the region’s tourism sector, engaging with local, state and federal governments. We are always here to support you, to hear your ideas, take your feedback and listen to your views. Equally we are here to provide advice and be a sounding board to ensure the success of your business.

Andrew Dick

Chairperson

Andrew has extensive experience in engaging with family and private business owners, predominantly in Victoria and is currently a Partner with advisory group, nem Australasia.

Additionally, he chairs two groups in TEC (The Executive Connection) which provides monthly mentoring and group meetings to a range of business owners and CEO’s across Melbourne.

In these roles his key areas of focus are:
• Business review, strategic planning and change management
• New market development and client research
• Business development and stakeholder relationship and management
• Management and team mentoring and leadership development
• Chairing and managing regular Board of Management meetings
• Business and Management succession planning

In his previous role working for a national fruit network company, AFFCO, Andrew led and managed strategic and operational planning, staff/ team recruitment, business and sales development, all with Board reporting and accountability, as part of the leadership of the national network of leading fruit companies.

At a personal level, Andrew was brought up on a farm in Scotland and on meeting his lovely Australian wife, moved to Australia and decided to settle in Macedon. Coming from the beautiful Scottish Borders Country and living in the Macedon Ranges, Andrew has always valued living in a beautiful rural environment. At the same time, ensuring the sustainability of country areas in many ways (community, economic, environmental), has always been of interest to him – hence the commitment to Daylesford Macedon Tourism.

Michael Woods

Chair of DMT Finance and Risk Subcommittee

Michael lives in the Macedon Ranges and has been a non-executive director of Daylesford Macedon Tourism since mid-2018 and also chairs the finance and risk board sub-committee.  Michael is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and also brings extensive finance, strategy and commercial experience to DMT after twenty years of private equity, finance, project management and corporate advisory roles around the world.  Michael is now CEO of Orbel Health, a novel hand sanitiser device company that manufacturing and distributes globally, is CEO of Newburyport Partners, a boutique corporate advisory firm specialising in life science and medical technology and is also an active investor in numerous start-up innovative companies in Australia.

Ms Elizabeth Corbett, FAICD

Board Member

Elizabeth (Liz) is a Daylesford resident and has been a non-executive director on the DMT Board since 2018 and deputy chair from 2019. Liz is an experienced non-executive director, small business owner, tertiary educator and management consultant having worked with organisations across Australia and internationally. She is a graduate and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has over 25 years governance experience as a non-executive director on a range of boards within government, health, community services, disability and professional associations.

Liz has held numerous office bearing positions, including Chair of Yooralla Society Victoria, Treasurer of General Practice Support Services Ltd. and President of the Victorian State Government’s Disability Services Board. In addition to the position with DMT, Liz is Deputy Chair on the CVGT Australia board and member of Outcome Health.

Dr Louise Schaper

Board Member

Louise is currently the CEO and Company Secretary to a National not-for-profit company limited by guarantee. Together with her partner, she is renovating the Franklinford Church, near Daylesford, where he lives full time.  Louise specialises in strategic thinking, entrepreneurial innovation, business governance, stakeholder engagement, building high performing teams and community development.  She wishes she was more ‘handy’ with power tools and could speed up the renovation project.

Louise brings extensive executive experience to DMT and is focussed on supporting the DMT team to grow the visitor economy and support the fantastic tourism operators across the region.

Bryanna Sandercock

Board Member

Bryanna has owned and managed award winning small businesses in the Macedon Ranges for over 15 years.

She lives and works in Kyneton and currently operates Piper St Food Co with her husband Damian.

She has been involved in numerous business and tourism groups and currently sits on the board of DMT as an Industry Representative
Her small business experience has given her expertise in business development, strategic thinking and communications.

She is also currently a Community Member Rep for the Hanging Rock Ministerial Advisory Group.

Bryanna believes the visitor economy is one of the key areas to providing quality employment for our region.

On a personal level Bryanna is also mother to 5 children and loves gardening, hiking, running, swimming & cycling.

She is also involved in school boards, sporting and music groups and supports a number of not for profit organisations.

Mark Smith

Board Member

Mark has lived in Trentham for 3 years and as previous co-owner of accommodation properties in Daylesford and Trentham – and hospitality business Trentham General – has been a regular visitor to the region for over 10 years. Mark was appointed as a Non-Executive Director of Daylesford Macedon Tourism in August 2019.

Mark has held senior marketing and management roles in Australia, New Zealand and the UK across the Tourism sector (Queen Victoria Market) and consumer durable/products brands – (Adidas, Nintendo and Black and Decker) and is currently Marketing Manager at Flinders + Co,  a purpose driven food distribution business.

As a passionate customer and visitor/tourist marketer, Mark loves the region and want to see the visitor economy and small business prosper across the region.

Rod Clough

Board Member

Rod has an extensive background in recreation management having been employed by the Macedon Ranges Shire Council for several years. In that role he managed Hanging Rock and oversaw a flourishing events calendar which included developing a partnership with Frontier Touring to present the highly successful international concerts at the site.

Rod was instrumental in the planning for the shared trails network through the Macedon Ranges that has already attracted State Government funding of $8M for a stage that will one day link through to Daylesford. He has particular experience in the planning and advocacy required to gain State and Federal government funding having attracted over $40M for projects in his role with Council. Rod has a detailed understanding of the region’s natural attractions and has been a member of the Victorian Mineral Water Committee.

Rod’s qualifications include a Masters Of Business Administration (MBA) with a minor in tourism management. Rod grew up in the Macedon Ranges and is passionate about ensuring a flourishing visitor economy that contributes to a lifestyle that the region’s residents can enjoy.

We’re based in Hepburn Springs which makes it ideal to work closely with businesses and local councils. We’re governed by a board of both skill-based and industry experts who also live around the region.

Steve manages the team, reports to the board, sets our strategic direction and liaises with the govt. entities. He also loves riding around the region and writing articles for our DM Life website and magazine about his latest discoveries.
