Summary of Grants Available – Overview

Enabling Tourism Fund

The program is investing up to $8m to support regional and rural Victorian tourism infrastructure projects to reach investment-ready status.

The fund has 5 key product focus priorities (all of which were identified in Experience Victoria 2033)

  • First peoples led experiences e.g. heritage trails and immersive experiences.
  • Wellness e.g. natural springs and wellness resorts.
  • Arts and Culture e.g. art installations, storytelling.
  • Food and drink e.g. agritourism, cellar doors, distilleries and breweries.
  • Nature e.g experiences and products that connect visitors to nature.

There will be 2 streams available:

  • Stream 1: Testing the concept – business cases, feasibility studies, master planning.
  • Stream 2: Detailed design, Specific plans such as cultural heritage, quantity. surveying, environment/sustainability, investment prospectus.

Funding quantum (amount available):

Both streams have grant amounts available of between $20k and $500k (details about ratios etc. can be found in the guidelines)

Co-contribution required (if any):
1:4 ratio, so if the grant is $100,000, the entity must contribute $25,0000

Eligibility:
Open to private sector, State and Local Govt, Incorporate Assoc’s, NFPs, Traditional Owner Corp’s

Entities may only submit ONE application under ONE stream.

Vic Grown – Regional Activation Grants Program (RAGP)

Summary

Delivered as part of the Victorian Government’s Vic Grown initiative, RAGP aims to shine a light on the high-quality food and beverages produced in Victoria’s regions and connect local producers with local consumers. Through RAGP, Agriculture Victoria is seeking EOIs for the delivery of localised activation events that promote and support local consumption of local produce. Events may include vibrant farmers’ markets, immersive food and beverage festivals, or collaborative tasting sessions, directly engaging local communities with producers. RAGP is targeted at Regional Tourism Boards, regional bodies and food and fibres groups who can deliver these events.

Tiny Towns Fund

Summary

The Tiny Towns Fund will support local projects in communities with a population of up to 5,000 people in the 48 local government areas of regional Victoria, Alpine Resorts, and the 10 interface local government areas. The Fund will support the delivery of community infrastructure, facilities and capacity-building projects in Victoria’s smallest towns.

$5,000-$50,000

Submission deadline
Runs over 4 years but first round deadline is 25 February 2024

Timeframe/funding period of grant
Projects must be completed within 18 months from the execution of the grant agreement.

Co-contribution required (if any)
RTBs 20% (half of which can be in kind)
LGAs 25% (cannot be in-kind)

Rural LGAs, RTBs, Incorporated NFPs, Aboriginal Incorporated Assoc’s, industry associations.

Victorian Business Growth Fund (VBGF)

Summary

The $250 million Victorian Business Growth Fund (VBGF) is open to support long‑term growth opportunities for businesses and boost employment and economic development across the State.

The Fund will operate for 10 years and will help to address barriers faced by successful small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that are ready to grow their business but can’t access the funds or find the right partner they need to take the next step. Roc Partners has been engaged to manage the VBGF. The VBGF will be operated out of a new Victorian office, ensuring local knowledge is leveraged to support the success of the Fund.

Open until 2032

Timeframe/funding period of grant
Proposals to first be discussed with RDV. Projects must be completed by 30 June 2026.

Co-contribution required (if any)
Proposals to first be discussed with RDV with co contribution encouraged but not mandated.

Eligibility
The Fund will consider businesses that:

  • present a compelling growth opportunity to Victoria, meaning that it is expected to lead to growth in a Victorian business, fund growth of a business expanding into Victoria, lead to meaningful job creation in Victoria or add meaningful capital investment in Victoria;
  • have annual revenue of between $5 million and $100 million;
  • have no more than $250 million in assets; and
  • have positive cash flow, or cash flow is expected to be positive during the investment.

Regional Worker Accommodation Fund

Summary

The $150 million Regional Worker Accommodation Fund provides new housing and accommodation for regional communities where workers in key industries and their families are struggling to find places to live. The fund will support employers to attract and retain workers by supporting projects that create more affordable housing and accommodation.

Funding quantum (amount available)
Applicants may apply for grants between $150,000 and $5,000,000 (ex GST) per project. Funding will be delivered in rounds.

25 February 2024

Timeframe/funding period of grant
Proposals to first be discussed with RDV. Projects must be completed by 30 June 2026.

Co-contribution required (if any)
There is no minimum co-contribution requirement. However, all applicants are encouraged to contribute towards the total project budget of eligible activities and expenses for key worker housing.

Eligibility
RTBs/VEPs, LGAs, Alpine Resorts, Education, Hospitals, private or public sector companies or businesses. Indigenous organisations incorporated under the Corporate Act 206.
