Product Development

One of our key objectives is to sustainably increase year-round visitation and spend in and around the Daylesford & Macedon region. We will do this by helping to develop new experiences for visitors through the development of new products and services that make the most of our key regional strengths. We will develop the region as a best practice standard for the tourism industry to shine while enhancing the visitor experience.  We support the creation of a sustainable and engaged regional tourism industry that is enabled for growth.

One of our key roles is to work with State Government, industry and the community to develop the right products for the region.  This includes the implementation and management of our 2023-2027 Destination Management Plan.  The plan sets a multi-year vision for product development in the region, ensuring that it supports the regional brand, fills product ‘gaps’ and ensures sustainable tourism growth.

Our Product Reference Group, comprised of DMT staff, tourism operators, industry experts and Government representatives helps progress and advocate for priority projects identified in the Plan. You can view our Destination Management Plan here.
