Dear all,

It feels that we have all hit the ground running in 2024. We have a fair bit to cover in this one, so let’s jump straight in.

Enabling Tourism Fund Grant info

The Tourism Infrastructure team at DJSIR is running an online information session on this important grant. The session will cover the recently opened Enabling Tourism Fund 2024 and the recently launched Guide to Investment Toolkit.

The online session through MS Teams is scheduled for Monday 19 February from 11am to 12pm. Apologies for the short notice. Please register your attendance here and indicate any questions you’d like answered during the session. Questions and answers will be circulated following the session.

Once you are registered you will be sent a MS Teams invitation with an agenda on Friday 16 February. Further details on the Enabling Tourism Fund 2024 and the Investment Tool Kit are available online click here. Should you experience any technical difficulties or have any questions please contact

Visitor Servicing Strategy

Daylesford Macedon Tourism (DMT) has been successful in securing Victorian Government funding for developing a visitor servicing strategy for the region. As part of this review, we are working collaboratively with Macedon Ranges and Hepburn Shire Councils to help develop this strategy.

Many of you will know Paul Matthews who will be delivering this project on behalf of DMT and council. He’s been a big influencer in the visitor servicing space in his time at Visit Victoria and rumour has it, it’s one of his superpowers! The project will develop a visitor servicing strategy for the region through physical channels (Visitor Information Centres/business) and online channels. Anything that can help visitors decide what to do, where to stay, and what to experience.

To help us with this project, we would love to hear your thoughts on visitor servicing. And thanks to Daylesford Gourmet, you have a chance to win a hamper worth $200. We are seeking your views on the effectiveness of our current visitor information services and any opportunities for improvement. You can take part in the short survey by clicking here.

DMT Business Breakfast

On Tuesday, DMT hosted a business breakfast at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Trentham. We had a great turnout and a really positive vibe in the room – thanks to all of you who came along.

Using funding provided by The Department of Jobs, Skills, Precincts and Regions, Catherine Bell, HR and leadership guru, gave the crowd tips and tricks on emotional intelligence in leadership, attracting and retaining staff, building customer loyalty and spend, as well as resilience strategies and more.

We have loaded the presentation onto our resources page of the website. A highlight reel will also be loaded here shortly. DMT partners can access it here. Make sure you are logged in with the business email address that DMT has on file to be able to access the resources page.

Save the Date – DMT Conference 2024

Our annual conference date is set: June 25th at the Macedon Ranges Hotel & Spa. Details to come, but please pop a placeholder in your calendar.

OK, that’s it for now. Take care.
Cheers,
