PR WIN – THE AUSTRALIAN
A full-page feature on the Macedon Ranges appeared in the Travel + Luxury supplement of the Weekend Australian on Saturday 18 March. The article, which profiled ’10 Perfect’ experiences, was also replicated online. It was written by Patricia Maunder who visited the region in February. The visit was initiated and coordinated by DMT. The combined advertising value of both the print and online article in The Australian is $73,602. It has estimated audience reach of 222,148 people.
DAYLESFORD MACEDON LIFE MAGAZINE
The autumn / winter edition of Daylesford Macedon Life is out now. Many thanks to all of our partners who advertised within the magazine. It was inserted in The Weekend Australian and in The Sunday Age over the weekend 25/26 March. An online version can be viewed HERE.
We are in the process of distributing copies throughout the region. If you would like copies, feel free to drop by the office or get in touch with Cath in our office to arrange delivery / collection.
EDITORIAL CALL OUT – DML MAG
We are in the planning stages for the spring / summer edition of DML mag and we want to hear from you! Do you have a story to tell? Or is there something we haven’t covered in the mag before that you’d like to see? Get in touch with our editor Madeleine if you have any ideas to share.
We are also working on the following story ideas:
- Pet friendly accommodation
- Affordable activities – what you can do for under $50
- Tasting plates – where to find the best tasting plates in the region
- Wine – which local wineries make rosé
- Outdoor dining – best locations for outdoor dining
- Art galleries – a guide to the many galleries within the region
- Sustainable travel – a guide to sustainable accommodation, dining and activities in the region
If you fit any of the above categories, or want to nominate someone who does, please get in touch.
SHARE YOUR RECIPE
Do you have a recipe to share? Our recipes are one of the most clicked on features of our website. We also often share recipes within our EDM and via our socials – with a reach of over 100,000+
In addition to this, in each edition of Daylesford Macedon Life magazine, we dedicate the entire second last page to a recipe – which also includes a brief description of the business that supplied it, along with details on where to find them. If you were to buy this page it would cost you $4,900 (and it is read by over 1 million+ people) – and it costs operators nothing.
We especially love recipes that are seasonal and that make use of produce sourced locally within our region. View our recipes page online here.
Please share your recipe with the team by filling out the submission form by clicking the link below. And remember, each submission must have a high res image of the dish to accompany it. We will pick our favourite recipe to be featured in the next mag – which comes out in early-October.
2023/2024 MEDIA KIT
The 2023/2024 Media Kit is currently under development and will be ready ahead of DMT’s Annual Conference in mid-May. If you’d like to discuss your marketing plans for the next financial year ahead of then, get in touch with Annissa.
TASTY LITTLE TOURING MAP
[Work has commenced on the 2023 edition of the Tasty Little Touring Map. Spots are very limited – businesses already on the map get first preference. If you aren’t on the map, share an expression of interest now.
The ‘map sponsor’ is also up for grabs – this needs to be non-food related, such as an accommodation option, tour or attraction. If you’re interested in this exclusive opportunity, get in touch with Annissa ASAP.
EDM’s (Electronic Direct Mail)
We have 2 x solus EDM’s (Electronic Direct Mail) opportunities up for grabs (April and May). These newsletters, which are sent to our consumer database of 60k+ are all about your business. We write the intro, as trusted experts in the region – then you provide the copy of what information you want to share about your business, be that news, deals, events, etc.
We also have 5 spots left in our May EDM and 6 spots in out June monthly consumer EDM. This is where you are featured alongside other businesses and inspirational stories about the region. The open rate for our electronic newsletters (EDMs) is 33%.
Get in touch with Annissa to lock in a spot.
STRIVE FOR SUSTAINABILITY SCORECARD
Launched by Ecotourism Australia in 2022, the Strive 4 Sustainability Scorecard is a pathway program for any tourism business to start their sustainability journey. Tourism Australia is the founding partner of the Strive 4 Sustainability Scorecard.
The scorecard measures where a business or tourism operator is at on their sustainability journey at a point in time and assesses the following four pillars of sustainability:
- Environmental impacts
- Socio-economic impacts
- Cultural impacts
- Sustainable management
Any tourism business or operator can be assessed, with the scorecard provided annually by Ecotourism Australia. Such businesses can include cafes, restaurants, bars, breweries, tour providers, activity/attraction providers, accommodation providers, events and festivals, tourism organisations, travel agents, visitor centres and tourism consultants.
With the ever-increasing demand for sustainable travel, we strongly encourage businesses to be assessed. The Strive 4 Sustainability Scorecard costs $250 (+GST).
